EXPERIENCED FINANCIAL ADVISERS WANTED
For our Bath and Bournemouth offices.
We are looking for forward thinking financial advisers (Registered Individuals) who may be frustrated or not adequately rewarded with their current firm, or who may currently be working in a network with little support and guidance. The ideal candidates will currently be producing in excess £100,000 annual brokerage (gross commissions and/or fees) and/or may be working as a tied adviser with a bank or insurance company.
For fully qualified experienced financial advisers we offer a self-employed contract with a payaway of up to 60% plus a profit share scheme and equity participation. Although we would expect the successful candidate to already be operating with existing clients and/or professional introducers, we may also provide some leads from our own marketing activities, advertising and website enquiries.
We will also consider Appointed Representatives who would prefer to work in a predominantly IFA environment rather than under a Network, with a payaway between 85% to 90%, depending on brokerage volume.

You will be working within a highly successful team where several individuals currently produce over £200,000 brokerage per annum and we ensure that Training and Competence standards are maintained and that investment advisers are adequately supervised. We assess and train any new recruits to a satisfactory standard and ensure administration staff remain competent for their role in providing support.
Controls The Training and Competence regime is managed and implemented on a day-to-day basis by our Compliance Manager, John Skillman Cert PFS who will also keep administration staff abreast of relevant updates and changes to procedures.
Product authorisation We ensure that advisers only sell products for which they are authorised, i.e. a regularly seller of that product, and that an internal exam has been passed.
Industry exams Help available towards qualifications such as CeMap and AFPC.
Reports provided We provide you with the following reports:
- Lapse / Clawback notifications (weekly)
- KPI's including Persistency, range of advice areas and range of providers used (quarterly)
- CPD hours (half yearly)
- Sales results bulletins (weekly & quarterly)
- Targets and budgets (quarterly)
- RMAR reports to FSA (half yearly)
Advertising All advertising, stationary and mailshots will be checked to ensure compliance.

- Complaints handling
- File reviews conducted with comments and help provided
- Checklists to help ensure Suitability Letters and file contects are complete
Initial Disclosure Documents (IDD) We produce and maintain Key Facts IDD's
Licenses We hold valid licenses for Consumer Credit and Data Protection.
Authorised and Regulated We are Authorised and Regulated by the FSA and our permitted business is:
- Advising and arranging Investments (including non-investment insurance contracts, life policies & pension schemes)
- Advising and arranging Regulated Mortgage Contracts
- Advising on Pension Transfers & Pension Opt Outs
- Advising and arranging Inheritance Tax Mitigation Schemes
Regular bulletins and fact sheets We provide you with regular bulletins and fact sheets on technical and regulatory matters
Portfolio valuations We provide you with up-to-date portfolio valuations for investment clients using fund price updates from Financial Express and for larger portfolio's we are offering the latest in 'wrap' technology using Fundsdirect wrap service "Ascentric".
Client database You will have remote access to our fully maintained database, provided by 1st software.
Adviser intranet Once we set up a user name and password for you you will have access to our comprehensive Intranet. Some of the things this provides you with are the Company Manual, Training & Competence Manual, and Online Suitability Letters. These Suitability Letters can be made client specific whilst still containing all the regulatory information required, saving advisers a lot of time and worry.
Our criteria Our main criteria is that a minimum of £100,000 per annum brokerage (gross sales commission) sales can be validated by your current employer or network. Satisfactory references and proof of qualifications (ideally AFPC) is also necessary. |
